“Love is like a fart, if you have to force it it’s probably crap.” I think this most definitely applies to songwriting as well.
Hello friends and welcome to our first blog update of 2014! It’s time to break the silence and let you in on the latest news from Deity’s Muse HQ. We know we’ve been fairly quiet lately, but rest assured we’ve been extremely busy behind the scenes and issuing updates without solid confirmations would be as silly as supporting SANRAL’s e-Toll initiative. So let’s get cracking on the news, shall we?
WE’RE RECORDING (AT LAST)
It is now confirmed that we’re headed into studio to record demo versions of all our new stuff from 22nd February at Loudmouth Studios. Once the initial recordings are done we’ll send them to Toby Wright where he’ll lend us his critical ear. There will likely be one more pre-production session after that to iron out any tweaks needed and then finally we’ll have Toby here to track the entire album proper.
We thank you for your patience. I read this quote somewhere recently:
“Love is like a fart, if you have to force it it’s probably crap.” I think this most definitely applies to songwriting as well. So in short, the ball is rolling and we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest regarding this project.
DEITY’S MUSE TO SUPPORT AMERICAN METAL WARRIORS IN MARCH
Our only confirmed show for 2014 so far takes place on 26th March at Rumours Lounge and it’s a big one as we’ll be supporting American metal band, Affiance on the night as part of their upcoming South African tour. Having toured the US back and forth with big name acts such as Killswitch Engage, Protest The Hero and Darkest Hour, Affiance will be bringing their brand of metal to South African audiences for 5 exclusive shows in March. We’re joining them for their show at Rumours on 26th March along with The Drift and New Earth. Click here for tickets to our show. Here are all the Affiance South African Tour dates:
22 March 2014: LIVE – The Venue, Durban

26 March 2014: Rumours Lounge, Weltevreden Park (with Deity’s Muse)
28 March 2014: Arcade Empire, Pretoria

In November last year I was invited to play my first ever solo show, opening for The Drift and Facing The Gallows. It was nerve-wracking but tons of fun and luckily I managed to get my hands on some footage from that performance. So here’s my stripped-down version of our song, Both Sides. I hope you guys enjoy it…
That’s all the news we have for you for now. We wish you all an exciting and awe-inspiring 2014 and we look forward to bringing you our new album in the now very near future. Speaking of which, it’s time for me to stop typing now for I have some new songs to work on.
Totsiens for now,
